The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 has brought into effect new fire safety rules which affect all non-domestic premises in England and Wales.

The old rules were usually a little confusing to businesses as they were dotted over more than 100 different pieces of legislation and some overlapping their requirements. The main purpose of the Fire Safety Order is to consolidate, simplify and rationalize the existing legislation.
